Success breeds success for EBAE 2012 winners (part 2)


M&S delivers on Plan A commitments to become Responsible Retailer of the Year

Thanks to the achievements of Plan A – an ambitious environmental and ethical programme – the international retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has continued to meet its commitment to become carbon neutral. In addition to collecting the top prize in the management category of the EBAE 2012, the company has been named Responsible Retailer of the Year at the World Retailer Awards and Company of the Year in the Business Community's Awards for Excellence.
M&S received the EBAE Management Award for its project 'Marks & SpencerPlan A - Doing the Right Thing', which outlined a strategy to reduce the company's resource impact by meeting 180 sustainable commitments. Launched in 2007, Plan A sets out objectives to be achieved in the areas of green procurement, fair trade, waste management, biodiversity conservation, corporate social responsibility, carbon emissions reduction and energy efficiency.

Success breeds success for EBAE 2012 winners (part 1)

Onwards and upwards for Aquamarine Power's Oyster technology

Based in Scotland, Aquamarine Power has continued to garner recognition for its Oyster wave energy technology since the company won the Product Award at the EBAE 2012. Aquamarine Power's winning project involved the development of a hydro-electric near-shore device known as Oyster, which captures wave energy and converts it into clean sustainable electricity.

Triumphant winners announced at the 7th International Green Awards™

LONDON: 20th November 2012Winners were announced at a glittering but sustainable gala ceremony at the iconic Battersea Power Station. Winners came from across the world including Australia, UK, Indonesia , New Zealand and the Republic of Korea amongst others. The Royal Society of Arts Accredited awards programme sponsored by Nissan this year was heralded another huge success with almost 400 guests and sustainability champions in attendance from Government, Business and NGO’s.

Green Apple Award Winners 2012

The Green Apple Awards 2012 for Environmental Best Practice were presented at the House of Commons on November 12.

The Champion of Champions were -

World Duty Free Group of Feltham, who win a holiday for two in the world’s greenest resort - AquaCity, Slovakia.
